Andy Warhol Pictures

The pictures of Andy Warhol have revolutionized the art world. Whether you love him or hate him (and most people tend to drift towards one of these extremes,) there is just no denying that Andy Warhol pictures have shaped much of what is important in our culture today. Without the pictures of Andy Warhol, pop art would have never picked up and done what it did. He was the first person to realize many important things about art. In Andy Warhol pictures, you can see the beginning of the understanding that the status and fame of the artist, and the significance of the work of art as a fetishized cult status was far more important than the work in and of itself. And in Andy Warhol pictures you see the first attempt to synthesize the high art and the low. Andy Warhol pictures, more than the works of any other artist before his time, try to come to an artistic appreciation of popular culture, seeing it as as worthy of admiration as anything that came before or after.

When I was in college, I had Andy Warhol posters all over my dorm room. My first exposure to Andy Warhol pictures was through the music of the Velvet Underground. On the cover of their first album, they had the famous Andy Warhol picture of a banana, which you probably have seen practically everywhere. The Velvet Underground were great fans of Andy Warhol pictures, and I, as a great fan of the Velvet Underground, soon discovered the art works of Andy Warhol because of them.

I am now definitely a little less of a fanatic about Andy Warhol pictures than I was when I was young, but can still not deny the originality of the man. It may be strange to call someone who spent his career copying the works of others original, but he really was a genius. Before looking at Andy Warhol pictures, most people never consider the possibility that works of advertising and such could be considered art, but after looking at him, your eye will be changed. As the saying goes, “it is an ill wind that blows no minds.” By this standard, it is easy to see that Andy Warhol has at least some value. I do not think that he could be called an ill wind at all. He certainly blew my mind when I first saw Andy Warhol pictures in college.

Aerial Photos

I grew up on a dairy farm in the mid-west. I have many wonderful memories of that simple and honest way of life. So often in our busy day to day life it is hard to keep memories of different stages of our lives alive. Some of my most prized possessions are the aerial photos that were taken of our family farm. Throughout the years that my parents owned the farm several aerial photos were taken. My parents did not always have the money to purchase more than one copy, but we have now been able to make copies for each member of the family. The use of aerial photography has been around since airplanes. Many of the crop dusters had a sideline of taking photographers up to get the different aerial pictures. It is amazing to see how maturing trees and adding or tearing down buildings change the appearance of the aerial photos.

Due to my early exposure to aerial photos I have always had an interest in them. I find that the aerial photos that are used in reporting news stories are my favorite to look at. I think that aerial photos capture events in a much more powerful way than still photos taken at ground level. Many of the photographs taken from airplanes during natural disasters or times of war give the impact of actually being at the sight. The still aerial photos have a greater impact for me than video footage because when you are looking at the photographs you do not have the reporter talking or the images moving.

I was pleased to find that there are historical sites that archive thousands of aerial photos in a wide variety of topics. Many local historical societies have hundreds of aerial photos that people have donated through the years. By contacting the historical society near our family farm I was able to find several early aerial photos that were taken prior to my parents owning the farm. I also found some recent aerial photos that were taken since they have sold it. We are arranging the aerial photos along with other pictures taken throughout the years to do a complete pictorial history of the farm. We are going to use this to surprise my parents for their 50th wedding anniversary.

Aerial photos are a wonderful way to remember events that impact your life. Whether it is from major news events that have occurred or watching the landscape change in your neighborhood, they are a wonderful way to mark the passing of time.

Aerial Photo

Have you ever seen an aerial photo? An aerial photo depending on what it depicts and how it is formatted can be quite astonishing to look at. These photographs serve a multitude of purposes, and can be special ordered or simply purchased from various online companies who specialize in aerial photos.

This type of image is pretty much self-explanatory; it is a photo that is taken from the sky. An aerial photo can be taken from airplanes, helicopters, hot air balloons and also from very high buildings and observation towers. Many of the aerial photos that have been widely distributed depicting the image of the earth were taken from spacecraft.

Many industries utilize them for various reasons required by the jobs that their employees do. Land record offices often use an aerial photo to document large plots of land, as well as the surrounding areas. Criminal justice professionals will sometimes use one when they are called to testify in court. They can be used to show the area connected to a crime scene. An aerial photo is used quite often in this manner when a suspect had to be pursued by foot over a large area of land, or when the police locate a mass burial site. Real estate professionals also sometimes use an aerial photo to show prospective buyers plots of land that are for sale. They can show the potential buyer bodies of water, forests and other appealing landmarks that would make purchasing a home in the area attractive. They are also used by the transportation departments in many states when deciding where to build new roads, bridges and highways.

There are many different ways that they can be taken. For example, there are camera lenses that make it possible to take an aerial photo of just a single home, while other lenses allow for a picture of an entire neighborhood. Some stunning aerial photos of entire states can be seen on the Internet by visiting one of the popular servers that supply images for viewing purposes.

There are companies who can turn one of these images into a work of art, enlarge it to poster size, put a frame around it, and it’s ready to become a conversation piece hanging over your fireplace! Many people embarking on overseas vacations sometimes will purchase this type of photo and cherish it in their home as a memento of their trip. A well- shot and developed aerial photo also makes a great gift idea.

One taken for industrial purposes can be quite dull to look at, but a full-color aerial photo of a beautiful piece of land, or an oddly shaped state or body of water can provide a treat for the eyes.

New York City Photos

By now, not only are people in the states but people the world over indoctrinated in the New York City photos of the worst day in the twenty-first century. And many of us have seen the before photos or have watched a television show featuring the skyscape of the area BEFORE 911 but airing months after. So we have felt the haunting presence of the beautiful twin towers, the representationally massive moguls, the symbolically twin tycoons. But the last few years have yielded some of the most heart-breakingly beautiful of New York City photos in which the central subject is the now known Ground Zero area. For example, Suzanne Plunkett’s photo coverage of 9-1-1 (http://www.theglobeandmail.com/special/photoessay/pages/attack_9.html) will remind you of the stunning, halting, frozen-in-time cavities that were once the twin towers of the World Trade Center.

But what I would like to call your attention to are New York City photos that have been taken post-911, and have been creatively altered in reverence, in memoriam, in commemorative care. Go to Worth1000.com (the site called Worth a 1000). Here you get more than New York City photos or 911 post or pre- shots. Besides thousands of modified cars (two cars melded to create an awesome prototype), gender swap creations (a celebrity of one gender is modified to have the attributes of the opposite gender), Renaissance painting revisited (the artists change the faces and bodies of a classic piece of artwork, so that a movie stars face and body takes the place of the original), and many many more oddities, you will find categories of photo-shopped, modified, creative constructions that turn the twin towers or Ground Zero into visions of empowerment.

You have to go to the Galleries section and click on W. There you will see a subsection titled WTC. Inside are stunning, creative pieces such as the following: in a couple of the re-done New York City photos, the twin towers have been re-built: they stand tall again, or taller that they once stood, reaching for the sky with the rest of the buildings against a cheerful clear blue sky. (And in the corner of the photo is the digital date, 1-18-09. Beautiful.

In another photo effort, the towers are rebuilt as turbo-charged futuristic architectural structures, complete with twin beacons beaming into the night sky. In another photo that has been crafted to appear to be a real photo, the towers have been replaced, and at their tops now bending they arc to form one single archway building. The sunlight is crafted to glint at the arch and to cast a teardrop-shaped shadow on the glistening water.

I won’t give away any more with my less than adequate descriptions. Instead, I send you to enjoy the redemption that is born of such loving, sensitive, and creative minds.

Antique Photos

If you have antique photos in your basket of family heirlooms, then it is important to take care of them. Antique photos depicting certain events or people have value to collectors, but this value cannot compare to the value a family may place on them.

Caring for antique photos is important because if they are not properly cared for, not only do they lose value, but they also can be destroyed. One thing that is important to remember is to keep antique photos out of direct sunlight. Light, especially direct sunlight, is harmful to antique photos. Direct sunlight makes the ink used on the photos fade, so it is hard to see what is going on in the picture. Artificial light does not fade them quite as much, in fact, not really enough to be able to tell a difference.

Another thing to remember about them is not to bend them. When an antique photo is bent, a mark is permanently one the photo. Since many antique photos are on a card board type material, if the photo gets bent it breaks up the picture and you will see the card board and not the photo itself.

Among collectors, not all antique photos have high value. There are certain events that pictures are taken of that are worth more than others. For example, an antique photo of a wedding party is worth more than just a random picture. But even wedding party pictures have differing values; the more people in the picture the higher the value of the photo.

Also, if the people in the picture seem a little more high class (the clothing is expensive within the time period of the photo), then the photo is worth a little more than if it were of a lower class family.

Sometimes antique photos with only one person are valuable. If the photo is of little children, it can be valuable. Antique photos of famous people are often valuable, too, especially if the photo is signed by that person.

Many people like to label their photos. This is not always a good thing to do to antique photos. If you use a pen to label the photos, it is possible that the ink might react somehow with the ink in the photo. If you must label antique photos, it is better to use a pencil of some sort. It is better for the picture because the graphite will not react. Another benefit of pencil is that if you decide you do not want it labeled, then it is easier to erase than pen.

If you have antique photos and would like to know exactly what they are worth, then you should go to an antique appraiser who specializes in dated photographs. They can study the images and will be able to tell you if you have a treasure or not.

Ansel Adams Posters

If you’re trying to add some character to the walls of your home, you can’t really go wrong with some Ansel Adams posters. Some of the most beautiful and breathtaking images of the Americas, especially the western United States, are portrayed in Ansel Adams’ photography, and I’m a huge fan of his work. I already have several Ansel Adams posters hanging around my home, and I’m always on the lookout for more.

One of my favorite Ansel Adams posters is his famous image of Yosemite’s Halfdome, with a daytime moon behind it. A particularly striking image of that beautiful and recognizable symbol of Yosemite, this Ansel Adams poster always fills me with a sense of awe and reminds me of my backpacking trips in that region of the country.

Ansel Adams was particularly fond of Yosemite, and did much of his life’s work in the area. Therefore, many Ansel Adams posters are depictions of different scenic aspects of Yosemite. They are by far the best representations of the park I’ve ever seen, and yet even they don’t come close to showing the areas magnificence in its entirety. Having said that, have a number of Yosemite images around me can at times fill me with the same sense of peace and serenity that I get when I am actually in the famous national park. This is a good feeling to have especially when you actually live in a busy city. While there is of course a certain beauty to cities as well, the bustling, noisy, and chaotic character to them is well balanced with some Ansel Adams posters.

Of course, Ansel Adams took plenty of pictures outside of Yosemite as well. Another one of my favorite Ansel Adams posters is a print of his Tetons and Snake river photograph. The Grand Tetons are one of the most striking mountain ranges in the country, and this image captures their beauty very well. While I’ve only been there once, every time I look at the Ansel Adams poster I am reminded of their imposing nature.

Ansel Adams images have become quite a rage in the last few years, and I’ve seen a rise in popularity in Ansel Adams posters as well. So not only are they great images to have around a home, they’re also very trendy. The kinds of images portrayed in an Ansel Adams poster are completely classic as well; a black and white image of mountains, lakes, trees, beaches, or other natural scenes will never be out of style.

Black and White Photos

I just finished commenting on the black and white photos of Ansel Adams, but don’t believe I got anywhere near close to describing in verbal language the language of the genius of the language that is black and white photos. (See what I mean? Even that sentence is hard to follow.) With Adams’s work, there is such a definitive eye involved, such a gift for capturing or encapsulating wind on water or ice and snow or two kinds of rock in contrast that I—far from being an art scholar—fall short of translating. The same goes for many fantastic artists who have “created” the black and white photos in a time when photo manipulation was not an option. No MS Paint programs or Adobe Photoshop tools were extant, and cameras were not high tech or instant.

I speak to the likes of the black and white photos of Ansel Adams, of course, but also to those of other photographic geniuses over time. For example, consider the stunning eye of the controversial Robert Mappelthorpe. Bodies are more than vessels of life, lines are living, structure is studied. The nude black man is edible rock muscle and tone luring the viewer to reconsider the person he or she has slept next to for the last forty years.

The same human body takes archetypal shape in the black and white photos of Herb Ritts. His sweaty, greasy mechanics wearing dog tags of war face the camera with the faces of boys displaced. His landscapes are melded with the ballet of bodies on beaches. His depictions of distortions are more real than surreal and yet strangely comforting and discomforting at once.

And the distortions and damages as realistic black and white photos meet with the eye of the brilliant Annie Leibovitz. In one work, Leibovitz depicts the fallout of abuse, her camera picking up the crust of old blood; in another, pompous rockers pose with puffed out chests and seasoned eyes, while boyhood purity shows as residual vulnerability in the turn of a neck, in the wisp of a half-closed eye.

If I had to choose, though, the most striking of all black and white photos is one done of Nicolas Cage. Let me preface the vote with the information that will disclose my bias: I have almost every picture of Nicolas Cage, cut from magazines, included in books on the superstar, or featured on movie marquee posters. But this photo is a close-up—I mean a CLOSE-up. Done by Anton Corbijn (I THINK—if not, I truly apologize), this photo of Nic, in a contemplative mood of sorts, is so close up that one can count the eyelashes, one can determine the pores of Nic’s skin. It is rugged and rough; it is precious flesh and palatable portrayal. It is the best of the best of black and white photos.

The fashion industry is a great way for New York photographer to find work, whether you are an experienced professional, or a budding amateur trying to find your place in the industry.
Female Photographer

Until some recent research, I did not realize that some photographers would specialize as a female photographer. I understand that males and females may be slightly different to photograph, but I did not think that this difference was so significant that someone could become a female photographer. Working as a female photographer involves some key differences from other types of photography. First, the majority of people who work as a female photographer are also female. This is likely because the comfort level for models would be higher. As well, to be a female photographer requires a slightly different skill set than other types of photography.

A female photographer must be able to work with light and shadow, and shapes in a way that highlights the female body. Depending on who you are photographing, this can involve many different things. When a female photographer is working with a beautiful slender model, they will want to highlight certain features in their subject. If a female photographer is working with a group of women, they will be focusing on different attributes. Working as a female photographer requires a lot of flexibility. Even though it may seem highly specialized (and rightly so), there is still a lot of variation in the potential subjects.

Chicago Photographer

I have often wondered how one would go about finding a Chicago photographer. The obvious answer is that there are lots of listings for a Chicago photographer in the phone book or online, but being able to decipher how good they are is the real trick. When looking at a potential Chicago photographer there are certain things you should look for to help you narrow down the huge number of choices that are available to you. While everyone knows that you should not judge a book by its cover, I think this statement is false in the case of looking for a Chicago photographer. You should be judging a Chicago photographer based on they visual taste, as this is what you are hiring them for. Therefore, if you find the advertisement for a Chicago photographer to be unappealing, that is a good indicator that you will not like their photos either.

Once you have narrowed down the potential list, you should call or even meet with some of them to ask a few questions. The questions you should ask a potential Chicago photographer should include their experience with events like your own and if they will be working alone or if they have an assistant. As well, you should ask a Chicago photographer to see some of their past work, as this will give you the best idea of if you will like their work or not. Additionally, you can ask a Chicago photographer for references who will be able to give you some insight into how satisfied they were with their photos and what it was like working with the Chicago photographer. Unfortunately, there is not sure way to get the best Chicago photographer, and even with a lot of preparation and research you may be disappointed.

Professional Wedding Photographer

I think that people may not realize it, but being a professional wedding photographer must be an extremely stressful profession. Your wedding day is supposed to be one of the happiest days of your life and the quality of the photos you get are extremely important. This places a lot of pressure on your professional wedding photographer to do top quality work. I am sure that almost every professional wedding photographer has felt the wrath of a couple who was disappointed with their pictures, blaming their professional wedding photographer for ruining their memories. Furthermore, a professional wedding photographer often has to deal with a soon to be married couple only hours before their wedding. This is an extremely stressful time for the couple who has a million things to worry about, and this stress is often taken out on their professional wedding photographer.

Despite these drawbacks, there are certainly a lot of perks to being a professional wedding photographer. As was stated earlier, most weddings are happy, beautiful occasions and a professional wedding photographer will get to share in the joy of the event. If the couple is indeed happy with the quality of pictures they get from their professional wedding photographer they will surely have the utmost appreciation for them and their work. Helping a new married couple remember the day that they tied the knot has to be extremely rewarding when it goes off properly. And of course, when a professional wedding photographer attends a wedding, they will often get the added of bonus of working at the accompanying party as well!

Cleveland Ohio Photographer

As an avid photographer myself, I have often dreamed of becoming a Cleveland Ohio photographer. Being a Cleveland Ohio photographer can be a glamorous profession in which you get to take the shots you have always dreamed. Whether you want to take photos of the stars, at sporting events, or of current news, you will get the chance to do so as a Cleveland Ohio photographer. However, the perks of being a Cleveland Ohio photographer are well known, which has created a lot of demand for the few positions that actually exist in this field.

Becoming a Cleveland Ohio photographer is not an easy task. To actually be a successful Cleveland Ohio photographer requires a lot of hard work and determination. As well, you have to be tough in order to cope with the large amounts of rejection you are sure to encounter. Becoming a Cleveland Ohio photographer also entails a lot of competition as there are many people seeking out the same few positions. The sad reality is that many people who want to be a Cleveland Ohio photographer do not ever make it to the top of this area. There are even a lot of people who try to be a Cleveland Ohio photographer that cannot make a living in this profession. This is not to say if you want to be a Cleveland Ohio photographer that it is impossible, but rather you must be absolutely sure that it is what you want to do. If it is not, then there is no way that you will be able to endure the hardship required to be successful in the field.

Dallas Wedding Photographer

Finding the right Dallas wedding photographer is crucial in being able to relive the memories of your wedding. Being disappointed with your wedding pictures will hurt that memory for the rest of your life. Unfortunately, finding a good Dallas wedding photographer is not an easy task. When searching for a Dallas wedding photographer there are several factors that need to be taken into consideration. First, you should be sure to inquire into the amount of experience that your potential Dallas wedding photographer has. When doing so, be sure that the experience that your potential Dallas wedding photographer has is in places similar to where your wedding will be. Shooting great pictures inside a church is very different from shooting great pictures at an outdoor event.

You will also want to find out if your potential Dallas wedding photographer will be working alone or if they have an assistant. Having an extra person around will help ensure that the Dallas wedding photographer can work quickly, making sure that they will be able to catch anything that happens that you will want to remember. Finally, since everyone has different taste in the pictures that they like, be sure that you see some of their previous work. Many Dallas wedding photographers have a certain style and you need to be sure that they have a style that you like. Seeing previous work from your Dallas wedding photographer is the most valuable thing you can do when choosing the right person for your wedding.

Professional Photographer

It has always been a dream of mine to become a professional photographer. I have always loved taking pictures and I like to think that I have a good eye for photography. I have even entered and won a few photography contests in my time. However, I am still a far cry from becoming a professional photographer. When I think of being a professional photographer, I think of the glamour of snapping shots of famous movie stars, the excitement of front row seat to my favorite teams to photograph a championship game, or even of the adventure of taking photos for a magazine like National Geographic. The unfortunate reality is that very few people that work as a professional photographer actually get to work on projects like the ones I described above. Rather, being a professional photographer is a job that entails a lot of hard work, long hours, and a lot of rejection.

If you want to work as a professional photographer it is important to imagine what your life would be like if did not reach the pinnacle of the industry. That is not to say that you should not aim to be a professional photographer that gets to work on the projects of your dreams, but it is important to consider other possible outcomes. I believe that you should always aim for the top, but think about what the levels halfway up are like as well. This way if you think you will be happy as a professional photographer that does not go to all the glamorous parties, then you know that you are suited for this profession.

San Diego Wedding Photographer

Finding the right person to be your San Diego wedding photographer is one of the most important decisions you will make when planning your wedding. You will surely want to keep your pictures forever to remember you special day, and having a good San Diego wedding photographer can make or break these memories. However, hiring a good San Diego wedding photographer is no easy task. I will provide you with some basic questions that you will want to ask a potential San Diego wedding photographer, but you should not limit your interview to just these. First, I would recommend asking their amount of experience. You will want a San Diego wedding photographer that has done lots of weddings, including a few that took place in a venue similar to yours. Having done lots of indoor weddings is not the best kind of experience if you are getting married outside.

You should also ask your San Diego wedding photographer if they have an assistant that will be accompanying them. This extra person can be a huge asset when they are trying to get a lot of shots of the ceremony really quickly. Some more obvious questions for our San Diego wedding photographer will be the type of equipment they use and the cost of their service. Most importantly, you must ask your potential San Diego wedding photographer for references and examples of past work. These will be the best indication of what you can expect from them. You will often find a potential San Diego wedding photographer that will even take a few free shots ahead of time to show you what you can expect.
